Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I clean my distiller?
It is recommended that you drain your boiling tank once a week. Cleaning your distiller will depend on the amount of water you use and the type of water you have. If you have a lot of sediment and minerals in your water (some well water) you will have to clean it more often than if you have already filtered water. To determine if you need to clean the boiling tank, turn the unit off and let the unit cool down before opening the lid. Then, simply take the boiling tank lid off and have a look inside. If you notice a discoloration or mineral build up on the element, float or walls of the tank; it is time to clean your boiling tank.
Why does my water have a funny taste that wasn't there before?
If the taste of your distilled water has changed, it may be time to do a good cleaning on your distiller. If you have a pump, it may be time to do a liquid sterilization and a steam sterilization after. A change in the taste of your water is also a prompt to change your Activated Coconut Charcoal in your post filter.
Can I put my water distiller in an enclosed closet?
Your water distiller needs ventilation in order to cool the water and facilitate the distillation process. If your distiller does not have appropriate ventilation; not only will your distiller be less efficient making water, the life span of the distiller will also be shortened.

If you find moisture escaping near the boiling tank, we recommend taking your unit to a local dealer for replacement of the bushing kit. Or call for a service technician to come to you.
How often should I replace the Charcoal in my post filter?
You should replace your Activated Coconut Charcoal every 2 months or 500 gallons of distilled water. Remember to give the charcoal a rinse with clean distilled water prior to re-installing the filter canister on the distiller. Rinse the charcoal with approximately one cup of distilled water until the water runs clear. Follow the detailed instructions in your manual.
